The Evolution and Behavior
The human being is the most complex of living things, is the
most complex of animals. Therefore it is considered a "higher
animal".
By its behavior
the animal enters into a relationship with their environment in order to feed,
reproduce and satisfied. This relationship with the environment keeps the
body's internal balance necessary for living.
Behave is adjusted.
The animals are getting "higher" in these changes
involved the environment, successive adaptations of place. To reach men.
Biological
evolution of the animal until the man falls on the central nervous system in
the brain. The brain is the one that coordinates and integrates everything that
happens inside the body and all that from the outside influences on it. There
are two distinctions brain: complex and simple, the complex can cause the body
to respond to different environmental influences in a much more varied than the
simple brain. Reply is behaving.
With evolution man has a more developed brain, so is the
animal that most influences can receive. Each stage of evolution has required
certain brain characteristics.
The first stage of evolution of behavior (hence the brain)
was the upright position. The upright, carry with it the liberation of the
hands, from here the man has some tools that will be essential for the
modification of their environment, see the speech and language with this
essential to communicate and transmit information (creating a signs) and
modifies the environment influences behavior because it develops thought. Among
these stimuli man begins to conceptualize reality.
Differences between male and female brain
At first it was
thought that the existing differences between the brains of men and women must
go to the hypothalamus, involved in controlling food intake and sexual desire,
among other things. It was thought that the rest of the brain was the same, but
recent studies show that it is not.
A recent study at the Harvard Medical School found that
parts of the frontal lobe, which regulate the functions of decision-making and
problem solving, was proportionally larger in women.
There were also differences in the limbic cortex, which
regulates emotions, and it was larger in the brains of women. Other studies
have found that the hippocampus, involved in short-term memory was greater in
women. Among the regions believed to be larger in the brains of men is the
parietal cortex, which processes signals from sensory organs and is involved in
the perception of space.
And also the amygdala, which controls emotions and social
and sexual behavior. Studies have been conducted in this area reveal that men
and women process emotional events in a very different way.
- Other information:
1. The male
brain is larger, but as we age and die before it is reduced before theirs.
2. Women's
brain functions at a higher temperature because they burn more glucose.
3. Women use
most of the brain when they think.
4. Generally,
women are worse in math and language better. It seems that this is because men
in the gray matter of the brain shows more activity than in women
(predominantly white matter). Gray matter handled by the information processing
while white matter relationships between data sets.
5. In overall results of
intelligence tests men have a higher average percentage by 5 points to women.
This apparent superiority in the results seems to be related to the fact that
these tests are given much more emphasis on math tests than linguistic (see
above).
6. Men think
about something related to sex once every minute on average, while women think
about it every few days.
7. Women are
much more talkative than men, it seems that connections are activated talking
located in the brain's pleasure centers of women.
8. Babies
women have a stronger reaction to the unexpected sounds or high.
9. A 20-second hug will
trigger the release of oxytocin in the female brain (also secretes oxytocin
during childbirth), and causes it to establish a trust with the person who is
embracing her.
10. Men use
about 7,000 words a day. 20,000 women.
Factors that affect human behavior
1 Genetics
2 The approach: In this level the person makes a favorable or unfavorable evaluation of behavior.
3 The social norm: this is the influence of social pressure that is perceived by the individual (normative beliefs) to perform or not certain behaviors.
4 Control of perceived behavior: how the individual's beliefs make it easy or difficult performing the behavior.
5 The culture: influence intertwined with the contingency of different behaviors.
Important factor in human behavior
A very important factor in human behavior, social and even in everyday life is psychology, which is the science of mental life, both of its phenomena and their conditions. Events are what we call feelings, desires, cognitions, reasonings, decisions, and the like, after considering such a surface is its variety and complexity that makes an impression chaotic to the observer. Without a healthy and stable mind can not be a healthy and stable behavior, for this reason mental health strongly influences human behavior.
Evolution of human behavior from psychology
Humans have evolved to fit a different world, a world that ended 20,000 years ago. We have not changed much during this period, although it seems too long from our perspective. Prehistory occupies this entire period, from hunter-gatherers along the beginnings of civilization to the revolutions in agriculture, industry and others, and we used to think that human beings of the twentieth century in Western society are very different from those living in remote antiquity: the caveman, hunter-gatherers who lived just before the agricultural revolution, long before civilization. This assumption is the current version of shocked thinking of Darwin's time, when citizens of Victorian England simply could not adapt to the idea that they were relatives of monkeys. To most humans do, too: surely have transcended the actions and reactions of those uncivilized savages. But for anyone who is aware of the recent discoveries about human evolution, our time scale has to be reset.
Humans and our ancestors have evolved over a period that lasted millions of years. The last 20,000 years are an insignificant portion of time in evolutionary terms: it has not been time to increase the development of our mental capacities, our ability to face environmental challenges, our ability to think, reason and create. We are the same people we were designed to live on when our species was composed of a few groups of thousands, roaming the savannahs of East Africa. We were designed to respond quickly to immediate danger: those who lived enough to generarnos.
In our time the dangers are of another kind and no one is prepared to see 15,000 murders during adolescence. Our world has changed radically in the period of our lives with computers, space travel, the threat of nuclear war. All these changes are unprecedented and yet we have the same mental system we had for tens of thousands of years, a system that tries, against any event, in order to keep things simple and clear. The human being is an animal you want and try desperately to make your life as routine and stable as you can, clinging to fixed assumptions and paradigms, while the world keeps changing continuously.
